World Cup Qualifier 2012

In the 89th minute in yesterday’s World Cup qualifier 2012 between Nigeria and Malawi in Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, Enyeama had a straightforward job to push away a floated ball but told the defenders to go away as he could handle the ball.

Instead of catching / punching away, he just went up trying to catch the ball with one hand.

Both the Eagles, Nigerian delegation led by President of the Nigeria soccer Federation, NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari were still on their feet celebrating the late goal that might have earned them a place in the world cup when Malawi’s substitute John Banda brought back Malawi with a goal.

Enyeama however went for the ball with only 1 hand and fumbled, leaving the Malawians with a heaven-sent chance to earn a degree on the day.
