Mimiko’s victory killed Godfatherism in Politics – Dan Nwanyanwu

| October 22, 2012

Dr. Dan Nwanyanwu (National chairman of the Labour Party) described Mimiko’s victory as the killing of Godfatherism in Ondo State.
Speaking to newsmen in Akure at a victory party organised after Mimiko was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Nwanyanwu said the victory would shape the course of politics in the South west and the nation at large in 2015.

“This election has put an end to godfatherism and imposition in Nigeria. People used their votes during the Edo elections to silence godfatherism and they have done it again in Ondo State.

“Mimiko contested against four sitting governors and against the PDP candidate, he defeated them. This has shown clearly that the era of godfatherism is over.

“I must congratulate INEC; they have done very well and I think this election is an improvement compared to the last governorship election in Edo State.

Despite ACN Faulting the results, many Congratulating wishes keeps going to Mimiko and the Labour Party. The result of the election has been said by some to be the heart desires of the people.
