Lagos State News: Special court convicts five lottery operators

Lagos State News – 5 illegal lottery operatives have been convicted by the Special Offences Tribunal Court sitting in Alausa, Ikeja.

According to Punch News, the men, who were arrested last week by the state Taskforce on Environmental Offences (Enforcement) Unit, were found guilty of a two-count charge of illegal lottery operations and benefitting from the proceeds.

They are Wale Adewole, Gabriel Dokpesi, Sunday Onasanya, Hassan Niyi and Saheed Shotayo.

The court, presided by Magistrate F. B. Lawal sentenced each of the offenders to three months imprisonment  with the option of N30,000 fine.
