John Mikel Obi- The Nigeria National Assembly will honour Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi for Excellence and for making Nigeria proud.Speaking on this, the Chairman of the House Committee, Hon. Godfrey Ali Gaiya said “we have tentatively set aside tuesday, june 19, 2012 to receive John Mikel Obi, as a honour for a worthy Nigerian Soccer Ambassador as an indispensable and integral member of the Chelsea squad which won the English FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League trophies.
It is a way of encouraging our footballers and sportsmen, both at home and abroad, that the government and people of Nigeria are proud of their achievements and exploits and will continue to support them in their efforts to make the country proud.
The reception would rounded up with a night party at De Carabian Night Club where some few Chelsea fans would have the opportunity to meet and rock with Mikel, stressing that it would be strictly by invitation.
