INEC approves 22 election monitors

Edo Governorship Election – 22 civil society organisations are approved by INEC to monitor the July 14 Election in Edo State.

Also, the State INEC headquarters has concluded a special training for personnel who will work as Supervisory Presiding Officers for the election that has seven political parties of the monitoring organisations.

Many have complained wondering how an election that is taking place in their operating base can be monitored by supposed strangers.

Also, INEC decided to approve only CSOs based outside of the state so as to avoid the pitfalls that have been laid ahead of the election by the different contesting political parties, whose desperation may see the enlisting of some of the civil societies that would monitor the election.
